remote monitoring in telemedicine

As telemedicine is in vogue these days it might be to aspirational and inspirational to showcase a proven technology. A subset of Singularity, the future of telemedicine would be structured around patient status update, data mining, diagnosis, prognosis and remote cure. As remote / rural means a sudden drop of infrastructure facilities across the world, the best doctors are unable to reach the poorest amoungst us.
While their investment in honing their current skill level is too high to warrant a full time occupational shift to the village. All doctors have always had an intent to serve the poor, now due to remote monitoring that desire is manifested. An uptown cardiologist can now monitor patient’s ECG remotely and possibly save lives when diagnosed during the golden hour, as the first hour after the heart attack makes the difference between life and death.
A3 BioMed Technologies provides one such portable wireless product which enables lives to be saved. It is a portable Electro CardioGram mounted on a notebook with a camera which sends 12 ECGs and the patient’s photograph via an MMS to upto 6 cardiologists worldwide. The cardiologists can be pooled and their time slices used for diagnosis, making scarce skills available everywhere. MMS of life!
